As a researcher, I focus on the intersections of evolution, ecology, agriculture, and genetics, and most often study plants. My approaches reflect a vision of combining conceptual, computational, experimental innovations into an integrated research program. Here are a few topics that I am currently working on:

What is the functional molecular basis of local adaptation to climate? In wild plant species? In crops?
How does drought timing/frequency shape the evolution of life history strategies in plants?
What are the evolutionary trajectories of carbon cycling traits in response to climate change?
How does non-linearity in organism responses to the environment influence climate adaptation?
